Stranded at Larnaca, I Needed a VPN the Airport Network Would Actually Carry

The airline app changed my flight from Delayed to Cancelled while I was standing beneath the departures board at Larnaca Airport. A replacement seat to Vienna appeared for the following morning, but the booking hold would expire in eleven minutes. The form required a passport upload and card payment, so I refused to complete it over crowded airport Wi-Fi without a VPN. The established app on my laptop remained on Connecting.
